DB Cargo UK are currently recruiting for a Team Member to join our Breakdown & Recovery department based at our site in Newport, with the role being responsible for assisting the Breakdown & Recovery team when dealing with derailments or incidents on the UK rail network. 

Breakdown & Recovery is a national service, providing safe ad efficient restoration of normal running conditions on the rail network following an incident. As a Breakdown & Recovery Team member you'll be working to the instruction of the Breakdown & Recovery Supervisor at all times

This position is based at Newport, however due to this being a national service, you may be required to travel around the UK as and when required.

You will be assisting the Breakdown & Recovery Supervisor and the wider team when arriving at a derailment or incident on the UK’s rail network. 

Creating a safe working environment in the depot and when on site.

You will be responsible for manually handling of packing materials and jacking equipment.

Undertaking, cutting and welding tasks as competence permits.

Carrying out maintenance in the depot to ensure that equipment is safe and stored correctly 

Ability to utilise down time in the depot effectively.

The Breakdown & Recovery Teams are required to work shifts covering a 24/7 period including bank holidays, weekends and nights.

This position is 42 hours per week.

Positive working attitude.

A full UK manual driving licence is required for this position.
