We are seeking a Asset Condition Domain Expert as part of our DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH Branch Office. The job opening is located in the Middle East and offers exciting challenges and potential for career growth.
- Lead and support the development and implementation of comprehensive asset condition assessment frameworks, including inspection, sampling, grading, and lifecycle evaluation method-ologies.
- Develop and implement asset condition assessment methodologies and inspection protocols
- Define and apply condition grading systems and scoring models (e.g., FCI, 1–5 scales)
- Design and execute sampling strategies (risk-based, statistical, ISO-aligned) for fleet and component inspections
- Lead on-site asset condition surveys and structured data collection
- Ensure consistency and quality of inspection results across assets
- Develop deterioration models and degradation curves
- Assess remaining useful life (RUL) of assets
- Benchmark asset conditions against industry standards and expected lifecycle performance
- Produce asset condition assessment reports with clear recommendations
- Translate technical findings into risk, cost, and lifecycle implications
- Support investment planning and maintenance prioritization
- Support review of fixed asset structures and classifications
- Contribute to useful life assessments aligned with IAS 16 / IFRS standards
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in data science, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related field.
- At least 10 years’ experience in asset management, maintenance, or reliability engineering in Railways project or existing metro or tram operations.
- Proven experience in asset condition & inspection methodologies; condition grading systems & scoring frameworks; and sampling methodologies (statistical and/or risk-based).
- Experience with deterioration modelling and lifecycle analysis
- Experience in CMMS/EAM Systems (e.g., SAP, IBM Maximo, SCADA)
- Certification in reliability or maintenance (e.g., CMRP, CRE).
- Knowledge of IAS 16 / IFRS asset valuation principles (strong advantage).
- Qatar/GCC working experience is an Advantage.
- Experience working with Ministry, Government Agencies, and Entities.
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written. Arabic speaker an advantage.
- Full Computer Literacy
- Excellent communication skills are essential to success in this role.
- Driving license is required to drive to site or to technical meetings with the client representative.
