We are seeking a Procurement Lead for Track (f/m/d) as part of our DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH Branch Office. The job opening is located in Saudi Arabia, and offers exciting challenges and potential for career growth.
- Develop procurement strategies tailored for track systems, aligning with project timelines and budgets.
- Identify critical track-related materials and services, preparing a detailed procurement schedule for items such as rails, sleepers, ballast, fasteners, switches, and crossings.
- Conduct market research to identify qualified suppliers for track-related components.
- Prepare procurement documents for track-related works and review technical specifications, ensuring alignment with project and industry standards.
- Facilitate tendering processes, including preparation of RFPs, and bid evaluation frameworks.
- Evaluate bids and shortlist suppliers based on technical and financial criteria, emphasizing quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
- Negotiate and finalize contracts with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms for the project.
- Ensure procurement processes comply with local regulations, project requirements, and international railway standards
- Verify that track components meet design specifications and quality certifications.
- Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain to minimize the risk exposure to the project.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in procurement or project management (e.g., PMP) are desirable.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on track works or railway infrastructure.
- Proven expertise in tendering processes, sourcing and managing contracts for railway track systems.
- Experience in working with PMC teams on large-scale railway projects is preferred.
