DB Cargo UK is currently recruiting for a Stores Operative to join our depot based in Acton. 

As a Stores Operative, you will oversee the procurement and management of stores stock and material at Acton. This is an integral role within the business ensuring the availability of materials and PPE is maintained to allow our Engineers to repair and maintain our traction and rolling stock across the South East. 

Carry out the ordering of and manage all fuel/oil/antifreeze deliveries.

Procure all materials/parts for the site.

Carry out stock counts including reconciling and investigating any discrepancies.

Ordering of all PPE and consumables for South East locations 

Carry out store’s audits.

Providing reports to senior management on material when requested 

Ensuring the management of the stores and keeping it well organised and tidy at all times.

Ensuring the material is kept secure at all times.

Assisting other locations with procurement issues when required.

Attend training courses and learn the SAP/Maximo and fuel ordering systems.

Ordering of all wheelsets for the site

Arranging skip collections

Booking out of materials/ fuels in DB systems 

Raising and issuing purchase orders 

Arranging/managing Dartford Crossing accounts

What are we looking for?  

Stores or procurement experience  

NVQ level 3 in an Engineering or Procurement discipline.  

Self motivated, adaptable and positive in approach.  

Strong communicator

Salary: £38,128 per annum (inclusive of allowances) 

35 hours per week 

31 days paid holiday each year in addition to 2 public holidays (The public holidays are Christmas Day and New Year’s Day)
