Introduction

DB Cargo UK is currently recruiting for a Lead Video Creator to join our NRCC department based at our Head Office in Doncaster on a 12 month fixed term contract. 

As a Lead Video Creator you will be responsible for leading a small team in planning, creating, presenting and editing the planned visual disruptions across the UK based on information received by the NRCC team to be published for the general public to use when planning their train journey. 

The National Rail Communication Centre (NRCC) supports UK Train Operating Companies by communicating the latest travel information via National Rail Enquiries, empowering passengers to make an informed decision about their journey.

National Rail Enquiries is the main source of customer information for all passenger rail services in England, Wales and Scotland. National Rail Enquiries is part of the Rail Delivery Group (RDG) which provides business services to Train Operating Companies.

The starting salary for this position is £32,000 per annum moving to £35,000 per annum once competency has been reached.

What will you be doing?

As the Lead Video Creator within the NRCC, you will oversee a small team responsible for creating engaging video content during both planned and real-time railway disruption events. You will take the lead in writing and developing video scripts that effectively communicate crucial information to the public, and you will also present this content on camera.

Your role will involve managing and organising all video content, ensuring consistency in style and branding across both pre- and post-production phases. You will liaise with external providers to ensure that British Sign Language translations are accurate and appropriately integrated into all visual updates.

In addition to content creation, you will lead the team in uploading videos to specified platforms, keeping the public up to date with information regarding ongoing disruptions. You will also be responsible for configuring and analysing analytics to produce performance reports, regularly testing and reviewing the content to ensure all resources meet the required standards of clarity and accessibility.

You will be able to demonstrate confidence in speaking into the camera and relaying information in a clear and concise manner. 

 

You will be able to effectively use a range of video editing software and be able to ensure consistency throughout all videos.

You will be able to work towards tight deadlines and manage your time effectively in ensuring all information is correct and out to the public in a timely manner. 

You will be able to demonstrate effective written and verbal communication with a range of both internal and external stakeholders.
