Position Description Summary: Responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance all aspects of warehouse operations as it pertains to inventory integrity, order fulfillment and the movement of goods in and out of the warehouse. . Principal Accountabilities (The following is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. It is not an exhaustive list of all expectations.): • Establishes and ensures all operational activities are followed for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse/distribution center inventory current • Ensures the physical condition of warehouse 5S, visual management and other equipment are properly maintained • Confers with others to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functional areas such as customer service and inventory management • Partners with the customer to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by communicating frequently with customers and following up on customer concerns and requests • Ensures safe operation of the warehouse including meeting company standards for sanitation, maintenance, safety, and security • Ensures operational excellence in all warehouse areas, related equipment, and warehouse management systems • Partners with engineering and management to implement and maintain proper layout of warehouse and product placement • Monitors and analyzes facility key performance indicators (KPI) and ensure they are met in a timely and cost effective manner to ensure the profitability and productivity of the warehouse • Investigates inventory delta and works with client’s operation management and staff to resolve and correct inventory • Partners with IT resources to determine and report on root causes for inventory delta’s and design corrective actions to prevent further deltas from occurring • Partners with quality management to revise and update standard operating procedures (SOP’s) in order implement, prevent and monitor corrective actions on the warehouse floor • Addresses complaints and resolves problems • Other duties as required and assigned The individual in this position must be capable of performing all of the essential functions with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Working Environment: Assignment Complexity - Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situation or data requires review of identifiable factors. Exercise judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action. Act as advisor to unit or sub-units, become actively involved as required to meet schedules or resolve problems. Accountability - Provide immediate supervision or assigns tasks to a unit or group of employees. May provide general or direct supervision to exempt employees and/or skilled nonexempt employees. A portion of time may be spent performing individual tasks. Impact of Decisions - Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results will cause delays in schedules. Working Relationships - Frequently interact with subordinates, outside customers, and/or functional peer groups at various management levels. Interaction normally requires the ability to gain cooperation of others, conducting presentations of technical information concerning specific projects/schedules, etc. Scope - Receive assignments in form of objectives with goals and process to meet goals outlined. Provide guidance to employees according to established policies and management guidance. Work is reviewed by management to measure achievement of objectives. Administer company policies that directly affect subordinate employees. Recommend changes to unit or sub-unit policies. Knowledge and Skills (The following minimum requirements are normal guidelines and should not constrain the advancement of otherwise qualified personnel): This is a management position. Exceptional interpersonal and analytical skills required. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent strongly preferred. Must be PC literate and proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Generally prefer 0-2 years of related supervisory experience. Essential Skills: Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
