DB Cargo UK is recruiting for a Property Project Manager to join our Property Team.

We are looking for an experienced Property or Construction Project professional who understands how to deliver construction, refurbishment and infrastructure projects within a complex, safety-critical, operational environment.

As Property Project Manager, you will take ownership of end-to-end delivery of construction and property improvement projects across the DB Cargo UK estate and customer locations. You will manage projects from concept and feasibility through to delivery and handover, working closely with internal business functions and external construction and property specialists.

The role is based at our Head Office in Doncaster with hybrid working available depending on business needs and project requirements.

What will you be doing?

In this role you will lead the delivery of property and construction projects that support operational performance, safety, compliance and commercial growth across our UK portfolio.

You will be responsible for defining project scope, developing delivery strategies, managing programme timelines and controlling project costs to ensure successful delivery. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams including internal stakeholders across Safety, Operations, Sales, Legal and Finance, alongside external consultants and contractors such as Quantity Surveyors, Architects, Engineers and Specialist Designers.

You will manage contractor performance and ensure works are delivered in line with agreed specifications, programme milestones and contractual obligations. You will also ensure projects comply with all relevant health, safety and construction legislation, including CDM regulations, and that governance and assurance processes are followed throughout the project lifecycle.

You will be responsible for maintaining robust project documentation, cost tracking, reporting and risk management, providing clear and accurate updates to senior stakeholders. Alongside project delivery, you will identify opportunities to improve property portfolio performance, increase operational efficiency and support long-term asset strategy.

Qualifiche

What are we looking for? 

We are looking for an experience project manager with high resilience and drive results and effect change in complex organisational settings. Previous experience within property, construction or other relative areas will be required for this role. 

You will hold a degree in Construction Management, Building, Civil Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline or equivalent industry experience.

You will have a strong understanding of governance principles, control frameworks, and risk management practices. Strong knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts and Health & Safety legislation, including CDM regulations will be required for this role. 

You will have proven knowledge of different property procurement methods, including their various advantages and disadvantages.

You will be able to demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels.

They will also hold professional certifications from an appropriate construction focused association or institute (e.g. APM- Association for Project Management, PMP – Project Management Professional, CCM – Certified Construction Manager).

We are offering a salary of between £50,000 - £65,000 depending on experience based on a 37 hour contract per week plus a car allowance of £6,500.
