We are seeking for a Trackwork Lead as a part of our DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH Branch Office. The job opening is located in Cairo, Egypt, and offers exciting challenges and potential for career growth.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert knowledge in the site supervision of permanent way (i.e., rails, sleepers, ballast, all other track components, turnouts, guideways, etc.) within railway environment.    
  • Be responsible for the planning, organization, and supervision of design, installation, testing & commissioning of the track works in the project.  
  • Review tender proposals in terms of track material and trackwork, as well as consulting the client in all issues related to procurement of track material, track laying and track maintenance. 
  • Coordinate between the employer, the contractor(s) for trackwork and railway systems as well as the national authority for roads and bridges.
  • Provide guidance to the trackwork site supervision team, organize regular meetings with the project team to provide project updates/progress to share and follow up on relevant information.
  • Be accountable for technical documentation, construction, and testing and commissioning schedule for the trackwork system, incl. FAT tests and site acceptance for dedicated track material and components.
  • Review track possession plans of the contractors and other contractors’ documents related to trackwork.
  • Supervise track systems’ requirement management process.
  • Lead, assist, and participate in site meetings on the line, in internal discussion sessions, telephone conferences, and team meetings. 
  • Assist in the preparation of progress reports and project deliverables in English.
  • Provide organizational and technical guidance and training client’s employees on demand. 
Qualifiche
Qualifications:


  • M.Sc. or B.Sc. degree in civil engineering or similar. 
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in site supervision of the construction of permanent way and/ or track maintenance.  
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in similar working position as leading track engineer / trackwork supervisor.
  • Previous experience with comparable projects in the Middle East region would be advantage.
  • Full computer literacy. 
  • Excellent knowledge of English language; Arabic language is an advantage. 
  • Driving license required in order to perform assigned duties.
