We are seeking for a Interlocking System Expert as a part of our DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH Branch Office. The job opening is located in Cairo, Egypt, and offers exciting challenges and potential for career growth.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert technical knowledge on railway signalling system with emphasis on interlocking systems on a passenger/ freight railway environment.        
  • Provide technical support and advisory to the client on issues related to interlocking and train control systems, esp. concerning solutions and technical choices based on the progress of the technology, the international practice, possible techniques contributing to the reduction in the cost relating to installation, maintenance, and operation.
  • Design review and work supervision of computer-based/ electronic railway interlocking systems. 
  • Review design solutions, method statements, work and performance plans, testing & commissioning plans and programs, progress reports and any other relevant contractor’s documents.
  • Participate in FAT, SAT and other testing activities (hardware and software) if required.
  • Offer consultancy services, control and monitor reliability, availability, maintainability and safety (RAMS) of the concerned railway systems.
  • Undertake meetings with stakeholders to discuss plans and prepare recommendations in relation to signaling works during all stages of the project life cycle. 
  • Provide technical and organizational guidance to the site supervisions team and troubleshoot, as well as investigate equipment faults, incidents, etc. at all stages of the project. 
  • Manage interfaces with other signaling components, CTC, telecommunication and on-board rolling stock equipment. 
  • Meet regularly with the project team to provide project updates/progress and share and follow up on relevant information with external parties and the client. 
  • Attend project meetings/ workshops for technical input and follow up all related Interlocking systems related matters and assist in the preparation of technical progress reports in the English language. 
  • Coordinate activities with relation to contractor and client interfacing on a similar railway project previously.
Qualifiche
Qualifications:

  • M.Sc. or B.Sc. degree in engineering or similar. 
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in railways projects in general project management and site supervision related to electronic interlocking systems is essential. 
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in similar position. 
  • Previous experience with comparable projects in the Middle East region would be an advantage. 
  • Extensive experience in the organization and supervision of the installation, testing & commissioning of electronic interlocking systems and signalling equipment in rail transport projects essential.
  • Full computer literacy. 
  • Excellent knowledge of English language; Arabic language is an advantage. 
  • riving license required in order to perform assigned duties.
