We are seeking for a Automatic Line Block, Signaling Systems, Level Crossing Protection Expert as a part of our DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH Branch Office. The job opening is located in Cairo, Egypt, and offers exciting challenges and potential for career growth.


Responsibilities:

  • Providing expert knowledge in Automatic Line Block, Signaling System and level crossing protection, as well as theoretical and practical knowledge of mentioned systems.
  • Technical support and advisory to the Client on issues related to signalling and train control systems, esp. concerning solutions and technical choices based on the progress of the technology, the international practice, possible techniques contributing to the reduction in the cost relating to installation, maintenance and operation.
  • Design review and Works Supervision of Automatic Line Block, signaling systems and level crossing protection.
  • Review of Method statements, Work and performance plans, Testing & commissioning plans and programs, progress reports and any other relevant Contractor’s documents.
  • Participation in FAT, SAT and other testing activities on site if required.
  • Consultancy services, control and monitoring of reliability, availability, maintainability and safety (RAMS) of the concerned railway systems.
  • Interface management with other interlocking system, CTC, telecommunication and on-board rolling stock equipment.
  • Providing technical and organizational guidance to the site supervisions team.
  • Troubleshooting and investigating equipment faults, incidents, etc. at all stages of the project.
  • Meeting regularly with the Project team to provide project updates/progress and share and follow up on relevant information.
  • Assisting in the preparation of progress reports and typing deliverables in English.
  • Attending project meetings / workshops for technical input and follow up signaling system related matters.
  • Coordination of activities of Contractor and Client.
Qualifiche
Qualifications:

  • M.Sc. or B.Sc. degree in Electrical / Electronical Engineering or similar.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in railways and transport projects related to design review and site Supervision of Railway signaling systems with emphasis on Automatic Line Block, Signaling Systems, Level Crossing Protection systems.
  • Hands-on knowledge in the organization and supervision of the installation, testing & commissioning of interlocking systems in metro & other rail transport projects Experience in the organization and supervision of the installation, testing & commissioning of Automatic Line Block, railway signaling systems, Level crossing protection systems on existing railway lines.
  • Previous experience with comparable projects in the Middle East region would be advantage.
  • Experience in maintenance services and the Defect Liability Period.
  • Full computer literacy.
  • Excellent knowledge of English Language; Arabic language is an advantage.
  • Driving license required in order to perform assigned duties.
