We are seeking a Alignment Expert as part of our DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH KSA Branch Office. The job opening is located in Saudi Arabia and offers the opportunity to lead a team and use your proven team management and communication skills. 




Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee rail alignment designs, ensuring compliance with relevant engineering standards, safety regulations, and environmental considerations.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and alignment analyses for new rail corridors, ensuring optimal routes for speed, safety, and cost efficiency.
  • Evaluate terrain, geography, and environmental factors when designing track alignment to minimize disruptions and maximize operational efficiency.
  • Lead or coordinate surveys to collect data on existing track alignment, ground conditions, and topographical features.
  • Use advanced tools and techniques, such as GPS, LIDAR, and specialized rail alignment software, to monitor and adjust alignment parameters.
  • Analyze collected data to ensure that the track geometry complies with both operational standards and design specifications.
  • Oversee the installation and alignment of railway tracks, ensuring proper adjustments are made to meet specifications.
  • Work closely with construction teams to ensure that rail alignment is maintained during the construction process.
  • Perform regular inspections and quality checks of track alignment, making adjustments as needed to ensure alignment remains within tolerance limits.
  • Monitor the long-term performance of rail alignments and track condition, identifying any issues such as shifting, distortion, or wear.


Qualifiche
Qualifications:

  • B.Sc. degree in Civil engineering, Railway Engineering or a related field. 
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the field of rail alignment, track design, or rail engineering.   
  • Strong experience with surveying techniques and using rail alignment software/tools (e.g., Bentley Rail Track, LIDAR, GPS-based systems).
  • Proven track record of managing rail alignment projects from conception to completion.
  • In-depth knowledge of railway track design principles, geometry, and alignment best practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Expertise in rail construction techniques, materials, and technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address alignment issues.
  • Ability to prepare detailed and effective presentations.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts and provide a good level of guidance and supervision to more junior staff.
  • Fluent in English language - excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Fluent in Arabia language is an advantage.  
  • Experience with MS Office Applications (MS Office), Outlook, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, & Share Point Online. Rail Design Software, GIS Systems and Data Analysis Tools.
  • Driving license required in order to perform assigned duties
