We are seeking a Safety Expert - Bus Operations as part of our DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH Branch Office. The job opening is located in Makkah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and offers exciting challenges and potential for career growth.



Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety management systems
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Bus Safety Management System (SMS) in line with regulatory and organizational requirements
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international safety regulations and standards
  • Prepare for and support internal and external safety audits and inspections.
  • Identify operational safety risks related to driving, vehicles, depots, terminals, and passenger inter-faces
  • Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments, and safety investigations
  • Lead or support incident, accident, and near-miss investigations & recommend corrective actions.
  • Define, monitor, and analyze safety KPIs and trends (e.g., accidents, injuries, unsafe behaviors)
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve safety performance
  • Promote a proactive safety culture across bus operations.
  • Support the development and delivery of safety training programs for drivers, supervisors, and operational staff
  • Develop safety procedures, guidelines, and communication materials
  • Conduct safety briefings, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns
  • Work closely with operations, maintenance, HR, and training departments
  • Liaise with regulators, emergency services, insurers, and external partners
  • Support safety aspects of new routes, vehicles, technologies, and operational changes


Képzettség
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree holder in Safety Management Engineering, Transportation, or related field. 
  • Professional safety certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO 45001, or equivalent) and Safety Management Systems (SMS) in public transport.
  • Total minimum of 8-10 years plus experience includes 3 years relevant experience in Safety Management within bus operations, public transport or a similar operational environment. 
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, risk management, & incident investigation methodologies.
  • Preferably with regional and international expertise, specifically experience in the Middle East.
  • Seasoned, well experienced professional from a bus operating background and shall provide di-rection, supervision, advice and guidance on all bus safety management matters.
  • Experience working with Ministry, Government Agencies, Public & Private Stakeholders in the Middle East.
  • Preferably proficiency in Arabic language, speaking, writing & reading. Plus, English language skills both spoken and written. 
  • Only Muslim Applicants – Work Location: Makkah City.  
  • Full Computer Literacy
  • Excellent communication skills are essential to success in this role.
  • Driving license required to drive to site or to technical meetings with the client representative.
