Track Quality Engineers ensure technical integrity, compliance, and reliability across all inspection and maintenance processes. The purpose of the role is to maintain strict adherence to SAR standards by validating documentation, auditing field activities, analysing inspection data, and monitoring the competency and quality performance of all maintenance teams. This function is key in preventing unsafe conditions and ensuring long-term infrastructure health.
- Maintain the quality manual, inspection/test plans (ITPs), and audit framework for all inspection and maintenance activities.
- Review TEF forms, codification, Maximo records, and field documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Analyse mechanised inspection outputs (TGIV, UT, GPR, ASIV) and verify corrective actions reflect defect severity and tolerance limits.
- Manage calibration records for all measurement and inspection tools.
- Conduct sample inspections of turnouts, level crossings, curves, and geometry conditions.
- Control and monitoring of the quality plan
- Provide guidance and support to the field crews
- Supervise quality control of materials
- Track and verify staff competency and certification in safety-critical roles per SAR competency codes.
- Prepare weekly and monthly quality reports, including KPIs, trends, and root-cause analyses.
- Support change control processes and evaluate alternative methods or materials in line with SAR requirements.
- Engineering degree with QA/QC experience in railway maintenance environments.
- Ability to interpret mechanised inspection data and assess field compliance.
- Experience with ITPs, NCR/CAPA processes, and quality reporting systems.
- Strong understanding of tool calibration and measurement accuracy requirements.
- Familiarity with Maximo data structures, KPIs, and reporting.
- Knowledge of SAR competency frameworks for safety-critical roles.
- Proven field auditing and verification skills for track assets.
- Awareness of HSE procedures and their integration with quality processes.
- Certification at Saudi Council of Engineers of advantage
