For Saudi Arabia, we are looking for a passionate Mechanical Engineer (Tunnel Ventilation) (m/f/d).
- Review and validate all tunnel ventilation designs, calculations, simulations, and associated mechanical system documentation to ensure compliance with the D&B Contract, NFPA 130, and Employer Requirements.
- Oversee installation and commissioning of tunnel ventilation systems, including fans, ducts, dampers, control logic, sensors, ventilation shafts, and smoke extraction systems.
- Verify ventilation zone configuration, ensuring that emergency scenarios can accommodate one train per direction within each zone in accordance with system requirements.
- Participate in inspections, NCR management, quality oversight, and verification of corrective actions to ensure mechanical system compliance and construction quality.
- Support testing & commissioning activities, including functional tests, integration tests, fire/life‑safety tests, and emergency ventilation scenario validation.
- Coordinate tunnel ventilation interfaces with fire protection, SCADA, signalling/ATC, power systems, evacuation shafts, and station HVAC systems to ensure seamless integration.
- Review operational and maintenance documentation—including O&M manuals, method statements, control philosophies, and as‑built documentation—for technical accuracy.
- Prepare technical reports, ventilation system assessments, compliance updates, and commissioning progress documentation for Employer review as part of PMCM reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, with 12+ years of experience in tunnel ventilation or rail/metro mechanical systems
- Strong experience in mechanical ventilation, smoke management, tunnel ventilation design, and fire/life‑safety engineering for metro or large‑scale infrastructure projects.
- Deep understanding of NFPA 130 requirements, ventilation zone strategies, evacuation criteria, and emergency ventilation behaviour.
- Proven ability to review mechanical designs, CFD simulations, control logic, mechanical schematics, and commissioning deliverables.
- Familiarity with RAMS requirements, maintainability considerations, and system availability expectations for mechanical safety systems.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to evaluate ventilation performance, diagnose issues, and propose engineering solutions.
- Excellent coordination and communication skills for effective engagement with PMCM teams, D&B Contractors, O&M Entities, and Employer stakeholders.
- High level of professionalism, safety awareness, and adaptability suitable for a complex multi‑system metro megaproject.
