DB Cargo UK is currently recruiting for a Payroll Coordinator to join our People Services team based at Doncaster.
As a Payroll Coordinator you’ll be part of People Services to provide a professional, high quality, timely, customer focused HRSS transactional service to key stakeholders and internal and external customers.
Our People Services Team at DB Cargo UK is multifaceted. We have our Operational team who are field based and support line managers and employees directly with any employee relations matters. Our People Services team manage all transactional and administrational requirements including payroll; and our Talent Management function – responsible for the recruitment and development of our colleagues.
What will you be doing?
Provision of Payroll Services for DB Cargo UK internal and external companies, including the processing of variable claims, new starters, leavers, salary changes in line with the company policies.
Verification of payroll control reports supporting the pre-approval process. Performing the final commit of the payroll Bacs file for pay day.
Utilisation of HR Information Systems (HRIS) to maintain employee pay information, answer queries and resolve problems from colleagues, the wider business and third parties. Support system developments and processes in relation to, self-service and other business activities.
Working within and maintaining Payroll KPIs by reviewing processes to ensure activities are carried out in the most efficient, cost-effective way.
To support all areas of the business on a wider range of Payroll activities, under the direction of the Payroll Manager or HR People Services Manager and in response to peaks and troughs of business activity.
To contribute to the review and updating of payroll processes, ensuring changes are in line with payroll legal requirements and annual HMRC changes
Administration and Coordination of the company Flexible Benefits and Recognition Programme, Benefits in Kind and Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution Company pension schemes.
Ensure payroll compliance by adherence to all statutory guidelines.
Validation and upload of the weekly HR Interfaces into the payroll system and reconciliation of compensation changes in line with the HR system.
What are we looking for?
Demonstrated experience within a Payroll department.
Experience of interpreting policies, procedures and best practice to provide payroll advice to line managers, with minimal supervision.
CIPP or relevant payroll qualification.
Sound knowledge of statutory payroll information with the confidence to educate on these topics.
Understanding of P11d reporting of the Company Benefits in Kind.
Knowledge of pensions and the pension process.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Knowledge and understanding of GDPR Legislation.
Familiarity with Workday and ADP is advantageous.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Experience with data entry and maintaining accurate records within an HRIS system.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise effectively with employees at all levels.
Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
