The District Track Technical Manager is responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and high-quality condition of all track assets within a defined district. The role’s purpose is to translate central engineering and SAR requirements into coordinated field execution by planning and supervising inspections, maintenance, emergency response, and daily coordination with OCC. This role safeguards day-to-day operational continuity and infrastructure reliability.



Responsibilities:

  • Lead all inspection and maintenance activities in the assigned district following SAR standards, including daily patrolling, periodic checks, and emergency interventions.
  • Plan and secure track access with OCC and manage all work orders through Maximo to closure.
  • Review visual and mechanised inspection results (TGIV, UT, GPR, ASIV) to prioritise corrective, urgent, and preventive work based on MAC code classifications.
  • Oversee turnout, curve, track geometry, and level-crossing maintenance and ensure proper TEF documentation and acceptance.
  • Manage sand-control measures, including berm maintenance, sand removal, and drainage Superrevision.
  • Brief, coordinate, and oversee inspectors, foremen, and operators; ensure PPE compliance and safe work practices.
  • Report performance, defects, and risks weekly and monthly to regional and central engineering staff.
  • Monitor calibration status and availability of district tools and equipment.
  • Monitoring of work plans.
  • Monitoring the maintenance budget. 
  • Control of optimal utilization of staff and machinery.
Kvalifikationer
Qualifications:

  • Degree in civil or railway engineering with hands-on experience in railway track maintenance.
  • Familiarity with SAR inspection standards, TEF forms, defect tolerances, and reporting protocols.
  • Proficiency with Maximo or other digital maintenance management platforms.
  • Understanding of mechanised inspection technologies and manual measuring tools (gauges, levels, profile tools).
  • Experience in turnout, level-crossing, and geometry maintenance.
  • Strong leadership and coordination skills, especially in working with OCC and field crews.
  • Thorough knowledge of HSE processes within railway environments.
  • Ability to manage operations in sand- and desert-exposed environments.
