We are seeking for a Health & Safety Management Expert as a part of our DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH Branch Office. The job opening is located in Cairo, Egypt, and offers exciting challenges and potential for career growth.


Responsibilities:


  • Be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing health and safety programs, policies, and procedures to comply with regulatory standards and promote a culture of safety within the organization and project.
  • Review and approve the contractor’s environmental, social and health and safety management plans. 
  • Supervise the implementation of the approved contractor’s environmental, social and health and safety management plans during the entire duration of the project execution.
  • Undertake audits, supervisions and/or inspections of any sites where the contractor is undertaking activities under its contract.
  • Be responsible for the well-being of employees and maintaining a safe working environment, as well as conducting regular assessments of workplace hazards and potential health and safety risks. 
  • Investigate root causes of accidents and oversee implementation of corrective action plans in the event of serious or severe environmental, social and OHS accidents or incidents.
  • Providing expert knowledge in health and safety management in transport projects.   
  • Meeting regularly with the project team to provide project updates/progress and share and follow up on relevant information.   
  • Develop and implement strategies collaboratively with various teams to manage health and safety risks effectively. 
  • Prepare regular reports, summarize key health and safety risk indicators, mitigation efforts, and progress, as well as assisting in the preparation of progress reports and other deliverables in English.
  • Facilitate regular safety committee meetings, encourage open communication and collaborate on safety-related issues.  
  • Attend project meetings / workshops for technical input and follow up environmental risk management related matters. 
Kvalifikationer
Qualifications:


  • M.Sc. or B.Sc. degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science or related fields. 
  • Certification in health and safety management (e.g., certified safety professional, NEBOSH) is preferred.  
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in health and safety management, with a strong understanding of relevant regulations in transport projects. 
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in similar working position.  
  • Strong understanding of environmental regulations, ecological systems, and sustainable practices.  
  • Technical knowledge and specific experience in health and safety management according to local law.  
  • Previous experience with comparable projects in the Middle East region would be advantage.  
  • Full computer literacy.  
  • Excellent knowledge of English language; Arabic language is an advantage.  
  • Driving license required in order to perform assigned duties.
