The role of Mobile Operative is hands on and you’ll be involved in the following:
Train preparation; shunting, marshalling
Train dispatch
Problem solving
Ensuring the safe operations of trains
You will directly contribute to our service delivery and have the opportunity to influence the service we offer to our customers.
The role will cover a varied number of customer sites, DB Cargo UK sites and infrastructure worksites as required.
You will be required to work outside in all weather conditions come rain or shine.
Your standard hours of work will be 35 hours per week. Flexibility is a must as Freight never stops, so naturally this role will involve working shift patterns which includes unsociable hours

Starting salary: £30,412 per annum plus shift allowance of £3,936 per annum
Following probationary period: £31,825 per annum + shift allowance

Entry Level Requirements:
Full clean, manual driving license
Located within a 1 -hour commutable drive to the central hub point location - Knottingley Train Station
Maths & English GCSE Grade C/4 and above
Previous rail experience would be a bonus; however, this is not essential as we offer a 5-week residential (subject to location) training course into the role.
