Responsibilities
  • Address front line claims issues with customers and suppliers.
  • Obtain, ascertain, provide and/ or exchange of information and/ or documents relating to the claim in utmost good faith.
  • Take preventive measures as far as practicable to mitigate losses and risk exposures.
  • Communicate with claimants and/ or third parties on the Conveyor’s behalf.
  • Liaise externally with relevant DB Schenker stakeholders, to; reduce financial exposures and maintain an efficient claims handling process.
  • Provide reporting and feedback to all stakeholders on cargo loss and damage exposure.
  • Maintain consistent financial data on all FF &TP claims factors and provide guidance on appropriate P&L reserves.
  • Adhere to all DB Schenker Risk Management on Cargo Loss and Damage.
  • Effectively manage the requirements of “Claims” through building strong relationships with customers and external stakeholders.
  • Consciously maintain a customer focus mindset all throughout “Claims” activities.


Qualifications

• Previous experience in 3PL customer relationship

• Previous experience in Claims and or Supply Chain/ Freight Forwarding

industry.

• Advanced computer literacy

• An ability to undertake contentious dialogue with customers and

  suppliers whilst maintaining a customer focused outlook.

• Strong commercial acumen (an ability to weight risk and reward).

• Knowledge of liability claims handling instructions

• Knowledge of internal Claims Handling Instructions

• Effective written communication skills.

• An ability to work and manage issues independently
